THREDUP: Q3 REVENUE UP 7% TO $88.2 MILLION, ACTIVE BUYERS AND ORDERS SURGE AS NET LOSS WIDENS

ThredUp, the Oakland-based online resale platform, reported third-quarter sales growth of 7% to $88.2 million, powered by a double-digit increase in active buyers even as net losses widened. Active buyers reached 1.82 million (+16% year-over-year) and orders hit 1.89 million (+17%), both record quarterly figures. The company sold more items than ever before in a single quarter. "We're proud to report a record quarter for active buyers, orders and items sold, delivering clear value for our buyers in Q3," said CEO and co-founder James Reinhart. "Even as we navigate a highly competitive environment, we remain focused on innovating across the product experience to compound our competitive advantages as a managed marketplace." However, the net loss widened to $5.5 million, or 6.2% of revenue, compared with a loss of $4.2 million, or 5.2% of revenue, a year earlier. For the fourth quarter, ThredUp expects revenue of $77–79 million, representing a 2% year-over-year decline at the midpoint — a cautious outlook driven by tough comparisons and promotional intensity. Full-year 2026 revenue is expected in the range of $337.7–339.7 million, up 9% year-over-year at the midpoint. The macro tailwind is real: ThredUp's annual Holiday Resale Report, released last month, revealed that 62% of Americans plan to purchase secondhand items this holiday season.
